House rules

These rules apply to every space in the house. Space-specific additions are on each space's own page. Read them before booking — the person who books is responsible for the space and their guests.

Cleaning and waste

The booking fee covers routine cleaning, heating, water and upkeep. Your part is to leave the space in the condition you found it.

Before you leave: waste sorted into the waste room (on the Koksikatu side, opened by your booking code for the duration of your booking), surfaces and tables wiped, dishes washed and put away, floor roughly swept or vacuumed.

Do not leave rubbish in the space or in the corridor. The waste room has normal sorting (bio, cardboard, plastic, glass, metal, mixed waste) and all guests are expected to use it.

Cleaning supplies are in the cleaning cupboard in the space. If something breaks or gets badly soiled, report it immediately to the contact given with your booking — damage that is not reported is invoiced to the person who made the booking.

Technology and equipment

The technology in each space is meant to be used as it is: connect your own device to the existing socket (HDMI/USB-C) and do not unplug fixed cables, amplifiers or speakers.

Return the sound and screen settings before you leave: volume down, screen and amplifier switched off, remote controls and cables back in their places.

The Wi-Fi is the building network — the network name and password are displayed in the space. Do not touch network equipment, switches or access control.

A fault or a missing device: do not try to fix it yourself, report it to the contact given with your booking. The report goes into the maintenance log, which is how the next guest gets the space in working order.

Furniture and use of the space

You may move furniture within the space, but return it to its original arrangement before you leave. A photo of the standard arrangement is on the door or the wall of the space.

Do not move furniture between spaces or outdoors onto the terrace without agreeing it separately.

Do not climb on tables or chairs or stand on them. Candles, open flames and smoke machines are not allowed — they set off the fire alarm, and a false alarm is charged for.

Do not attach anything to walls, windows or wooden surfaces with tape, nails or stickers. Hang decorations only on the rails and hooks provided, and remove them when you leave.

General rules

Access is by the code you receive with your booking, which works only during your booking time. Preparations and final cleaning are done within the booked time.

If your booking ends at 00:00, nobody may be in the building after that. A security company checks the premises, and a false alarm is charged at €200.

Smoking is not allowed indoors or immediately outside the doors. Smoking is permitted at the designated tables on the restaurant terrace and on the Koksikatu side (not next to the children's play area).

The building is in a residential area: keep music and voices at a reasonable level, especially after 22:00, and keep windows and terrace doors closed when things are loud.

The person who made the booking is responsible for their guests and for any damage to the space. Lost property is taken to the Särkkä storage room.
